Our daughter was supposed to be married on 1st August 2020 and after many discussions we decided to proceed with a wedding for 15 on 30th October. What a day we had! It was amazing and could not have been achieved without the help of Maggie and Anthony. You hear all these horror stories about wedding venues during Covid but they were the opposite...so helpful and eager to please nothing was too much trouble. The venue was warm and sparkly and the food delicious. We spent the night in the quirky but very comfortable converted stables and awoke to a fabulous English breakfast. I would recommend this venue to everyone. Maggie and Anthony will make your special day even more memorable. A big thank you to both of them from all of us.

Heron’s Farm is a hidden gem in the most beautiful rolling countryside. This is the place we chose for our Wedding and we could not have chosen a better place or have been looked after any better than by Maggie and Anthony. They are just the most warm, caring and accommodating people you could ever wish to meet-nothing was too much trouble!
Covid has made things tough for everyone but, with their complete support and unparalleled help, we managed to have the most perfect day, whilst being covid compliant! In fact-we had two perfect days, thanks to their genius idea of having a celebration for 25 guests before the reduction to 15 came into effect- and then the actual day with the new numbers! All completely at the shortest notice but they just pulled it out of the bag! We would’ve been lost if it wasn’t for them and ‘thank you’ just doesn’t seem enough!
The whole experience was fantastic-the catering by them was delicious-everyone raved about the quality and taste! Empty plates all round and the staff who served us(with masks!) were so attentive but not intrusive- a delight!
The venue looked stunning-the accommodation was beyond compare-if anyone is thinking of a venue-look no further! You will have the best day of your life and be supported and spoilt by the amazing Maggie and Anthony!
Thank you for everything xxx

This is a magical place! The landscape is gorgeous, and there are miles and miles of public foot paths and great walks all around. The nearest town, Pangbourne, about 4 miles away, is utterly charming; it's right on the Thames, and there's a stunning walk along the river that goes for miles as well. Pangbourne also has a good, though small, grocery store and a fabulous bakery, Birch Bread. Speaking of supplies, there's also a marvelous shop called Vicar's Game in a nearby village that has all sorts of local game--grouse, partridge, venison--as well as excellent cheeses, pies, fruits, and vegetables. We stayed in the Dove Cote apartment, and it was perfect for a couple, roomy with nice views, great Internet, new oven and new clothes washer. Everyone was so responsive and so friendly--we instantly felt welcome and at home. And a really unexpected plus is the horses! It was just lovely being around and among them--we're not riders, but just watching them and experiencing their presence was calming and charming. We wish we could have stayed much longer.

Room tip: This is not a hotel, per se, but a B&B in a rural area, very Covid-safe, easy to maintain social distancing.

Stayed here during January & February while working in the area. Works out very cheap for a long stay. The accommodation is self contained and fully equipped.
The setting is very rustic and outside the equine community are busy tending to
horses etc.
Convenient for the motorway with quick access for Reading and Newbury.
Would definitely come back here.

Room tip: Bring your wellies

Just an Alice in Wonderland experience - 3 miles off Junction 12 M4 - gorgeous farm house with cottages - great full English breakfast. the host is Maggie an absolute delight. I use it now as a fraction of hotel cost of elsewhere and the silence is deafening! Cannot be faulted - I am going to have a corporate day for my colleagues as they have meetings rooms and fabulous food.

Room tip: The cottages are cute and self contained great for a weekend away
