“Decent Track, Terrible Course Management, No Restaurant”

Golf course is in decent shape - especially for the price. Don't believe the web site - their restaurant is no longer open at all. And although they say they don't allow 5somes on their course - we were stuck behind 2 of them this past week. When I called the pro shop from the 3rd hole they said they would send out a ranger - but no one ever showed up. One of our groups quit after 7 holes - we slogged it out for 5 hours to get 18 in. And the cart girl left about 3:00, so forget about a couple of beers to get you through the looong afternoon.

This is a great course ! The greens and fairways are in great shape year round. Buy a course card to receive discounts. Challenging holes but not too difficult for the average to above average golfer. Only drawback right now is there is not a grill open.

We decided to visit while on vacation and the course was really nice, but that was it...We thought we were getting a great deal when it was $22 for 9 holes & a cart, but when we asked about rental clubs we were told it was $35 per person. How do rental clubs cost almost twice as much as the actual golf? Also, the clubs were awful and one was a senior, soft flex which they didn't even tell us about. The guy working the pro shop just said, "that's the way it is" with a sarcastic smile when I returned the clubs after 9, questioning how they charge that much. We will definitely be sticking to North Shore in Topsail where they give you great Taylor Made rentals for free and the customer service is much better. It is very frustrating because we all enjoyed the course and would like to play it again, but will not go back after the rude attitude of the guy in the pro shop and the ridiculous pricing.

Best greens I have played on in a long, long time. Very challenging course. Fast, true greens. What more can you ask for? Staff is very friendly and are glad you are there. Castle Bay is a must play course.

Awesome place that is very friendly and reasonably priced, especially for military members. On Veteran's Day they offered free golfing for a week to all active duty and retired military. Definitely recommend to all.
