Decided to try Maria's Mexican Restaurant as it has eluded us for some time. We have heard many good things about the Margarita's, freshness of the food, hospitality and an enjoyable time. The Margarita's are very good, the food appears homemade and very fresh, and the staff very friendly. We tried two different dishes, one a Taco plate and the other a chicken fajitas plate. The Chicken fajitas accompanied with rice (really flavorful & superb), flour fajitas (choice of flour or corn), guacamole, and enchiladas in sauce. The Taco plate came with choice of Chicken or Beef (ordered Chicken), rice (again very good), and refried beans (very good). The atmosphere is quaint and somewhat creative, located in the lower level of a former small school(?). The prices were higher than one would expect for a Mexican restaurant, and that would be the only caution. Definitely a return trip is in order, as we saw some very appetizing plates that other patrons had ordered.
