Physical key locks, not proxy cards was kind of weird. Needs some updating.

Continental breakfast was pretty good, and dinner menu was acceptable, not too many options in the area late at night.

Got a bug bite while eating breakfast which swelled my foot to 1.5x the size, but that's just jungle bugs I guess..

I only stayed here one night as a stopover. The reception was nice, and the staff exceptional. They all tried to be as helpful as possible and I thought they were very well trained. My room was quite boxy and small, and with the heat outside it was hard work for the noisy air conditioner. It was a functional hotel but not one where I'd spend any time in the room.

The rooms were very big, the beds were fine, they could use new linen, as a sheet had a big tear in it. Its one block from the center of town and about 1-2 km from Peoples Square and other restaurants. The breakfast was fine, nothing amazing though, but plenty to eat.

Fair sized rooms but out of date. Noisy aircon. Although in the city centre, it is actually a long hot walk to the area with a few decent restaurants and bars. The attractions of the city centre are few, but this is not the hotel's fault. Decent breakfast buffet, but otherwise the facilities are limited, no pool or bar. Restaurant does lunch and dinner.

We were in Brazil for the world cup and spent our last night here (about a week after the last game was held in the city). We booked online and were deceived into believing the 4 star rating. The service is definitely equivalent to that of a luxury hotel. Friendly staff, valets, doormen and waiters who cut up your food for you. Unfortunately the rooms aren't any better than the cheaper hotels we stayed at during our time in the country. Very old and in need of maintenance. We had no hot water in our room. After a few different people came and called to check on it they eventually moved us to another one. We could tell small improvements had been made to the second room and around the hotel but it's definitely in need of some modern upgrades. The restaurant was good. HUGE portions that could easily have been split between 2 people. Breakfast was also good, especially when compared to other places we stayed. Large buffet with a variety of fruits, breads, cereal, eggs, juices and hot drinks. Wouldn't have known this place was affiliated with Best Western if it weren't for the logo on the key.
