I brought a group of travellers here; some stayed in the bandas, some in the tents, and everyone had nothing but praises. When you read the reviews of wildlife in the camp they aren't kidding. My son & I had hippos outside of our tent grazing in the night - incredible! Hear lions and hyenas in the night. Others had a water buffalo outside and there were even 2 elephants that passed through during the day.

The brilliant food served outside was enhanced by the company of a hippo one evening. How do you top that kind of experience?

Staff were very attentive, helpful and how they remembered my name I don't know ... They were very helpful in arranging for game drives with local guides that ended up a lot cheaper than through the UWA. (Ask for Innocent and Joseph to drive you, these guys know their way around!)

Really, really good bang for buck! Can't wait to return ...

Room Tip: The Fish Eagle & Forest Hog would make a great pair of bandas for a family or friends

One of the best nature lodges i have been to. The room are just comfy and very clean. The room service was always on time. We stayed in a tent and it was just wow.
It made our holiday in Uganda a memorable experience

Room Tip: Tents are very good

The lodge is situated high above the Kazinga Channel. The tents are very nice and comfortable. It is an eco lodge so the private bathroom is outdoors but the toilet is indoor. At night you can hear the loud noise that hippos do (I liked it, some people don't). During the day you can see lots of animals close to the lodge down around the water. It is beautiful and peaceful atmosphere, I wish I had a free afternoon to enjoy a drink on the veranda and watching the wildlife. Dinners are very romantic (it gets very dark and the light is from gas lamps only on each table). I only wish they were serving breakfast at the opened yard (not in the covered part).

Room Tip: wildlife view

Super efficient and well oraganised with great food. There seemed to be far more wildlife in and around Bush Lodge than in the park itself. 10+ elephants down at the waterside in front of our banda for the whole afternoon of our arrival together with giant forest hogs, 2 monkeys fighting on our roof on the 1st night; 3 male lions making their way through the camp on the 2nd roaring appropriately; a buffalo and hippos grazing all around at night-time and a lazy hippo having a post lunch snooze right in front of the bandas one afternoon.

Don't be put off by the eco toilets. They're vey efficient, don't smell and don't have bugs.

All in all a tremendous place to stay with great food and friendly staff.

The tent is large and has great views of a lush valley with hippos and buffalo. The service was amazing and dinner was good. The only thing to keep in mind is that the shower was not warm and the toilet is a pit toilet, not flush. A real glamping experience. Would stay again.
