It is a typical old school quick stop for a quick bite to eat. Workers, are quick, but come off rude. One worker was popping aspirin like candy while yelling at another worker. While the grill man was working hard. While we were eating a large mouse ran right past us towards an open box of hotdogs buns.
The food was okay. We ordered the Special, and some chilli fries. They were all just okay. Nothing to write home about.

OK so we're walking downtown Troy looking at the architecture on a mission to find the church that was redone totally byTiffany . When we spotted a sign on the corner of the building that said famous lunch, well with a sign like that one must investigate and here is what follows.

Upon entering you will find a nostalgic greasy spoon atmosphere with a grill full of 3 inch hotdogs another grill with chicken and sausage sandwiches by the way which is a real sandwich made of sausage this place has been around forever. The owners are awesome they take time to tell you about their city about the restaurant if you like hotdogs yada try it if you don't like hotdogs you still need to try it just to say you did.

Famous Lunch has the best mini hot dogs in the area. Maybe not the best place to sit and eat, but highly recommend that you place an order to go.

No frills. Get the four dog special with sauce and an RC. The fascinating part is the place itself. You might have walked into the twilight zone and 1965 or some similar year. This place is better for adults and college kids perhaps.

I read about this place somewhere online that it was pretty good so I decided to give it a try. It is an old fashioned diner type place. As soon as I walked in the guy cooking the hot dogs was dripping with sweat and had a towel over his head to absorb his moisture. I sat at the counter for 10 minutes before another customer said to an employee that I needed to order. I had the lunch special which is 4 hot dogs with the works and a can of RC cola for 4.50. Zippy sauce was ok and the hot dogs were nothing special. Like I said this place comes across as dirty and the food is nothing great. There have to be better places in Troy than this.
