My roommate and I travel around the country with a Broadway show. Our company selected housing for Rochester that was unsatisfactory.
We stumbled upon the east avenue inn and suites and felt so much more at home.

It's in a cute part of town and close to the theatre and restaurants, especially if you have a car. The restaurant is great and stayed open late when we wanted to have a small celebration there post-show.

Stayed in this hotel for three nights we were welcomed by a lovely gentleman at the desk who could not be any more friendly and helpful.arrived to a very spacious room lovely comfy beds free bottles of water lovely restroom. Had a lovely sleep in this room I had no adapter for my charger to which I asked at reception if they had a spare one to which the receptionist gave his own personal one which I tought was above generous of him ❤️overall I’d stay here in a heartbeat again was a pleasure

Our family stayed in five suites for a weekend gathering and used a private room above the lobby for our pizza party. The suites were large (especially the premium ones) and well-appointed. Rooms were clean and bedding was comfortable. Beds were a bit tall for people of shorter stature. The shower operation was a bit strange but ok. Wifi worked fine. Our check-in person was very friendly (almost to a fault in terms of efficient check-in), so we didn’t mind minor mix-ups on the room assignments (e.g., guest of honor was not given the best room of the group). He also was very helpful in answering requests related to our party. The two shuttle drivers who drove our group to and from dinner were also courteous and helpful. We enjoyed the original art on the walls by a local artist. Breakfast options were varied including very good muffins and bagels, oatmeal and cold cereals, yogurt, and make-your-own waffles. They even had soy milk. No eggs or meat but those are usually not very good at free hotel breakfasts, so we didn’t mind. There were enough tables in the breakfast area and the TV was not tuned to Faux News as too many motels are. (We would prefer seating without any TV, but that never happens.) Parking was convenient near the entrances to the room halls. It was a long walk inside from our part of the hotel to the lobby/breakfast area. We didn’t mind the exercise, but others might. Our sense was that our wing (with the suites) was quieter than the other halls on a Saturday night. Although we were told at check-in there was a 10 p.m. quiet time for the hotel, this was apparently not observed. The second floor is likely quieter than the first, as we could hear all footsteps in the room suite above us. Overall it was a very pleasant stay especially the staff interactions and we would definitely stay here again when visiting family in the area.

Room Tip: Second floor likely quieter

Thank you for your feedback! We are pleased to see we were able to accommodate you and your family's needs during your stay. We do apologize for the mix up in the rooms. We'll bee looking into this to ensure we do not have this happening again. For future visits, we can arrange to have your family's rooms on the second floor. This will provide you all with quieter rooms making for an even more pleasant stay.

I spent one night at this hotel in November. The person at the front desk was very warm and helpful. The location was perfect for my needs: I was able to walk to the Little Theatre to see a movie the night I checked in. The hotel layout seemed odd but it didn't affect my stay. The room was comfortable and clean. I liked the window that looked out onto the lawn and nearby Eastman Museum. As other reviewers have mentioned, there are lots of stairs from the front desk to (many of) the guests rooms, so check with the hotel before booking a room. There was plenty of room in the breakfast room in the morning.

Thank you for you review and rating! We are pleased to see that we we're able to make your stay with us as pleasant as possible. We are expecting to undergo some renovations in the hotel soon. With this we are looking to add in more rooms in order to cut back on the travel distance from the front desk to our guest rooms. With this and other changes we aim to make future stays here even more enjoyable.

Fairly clean spacious room with a comfortable bed; I just would have thought for a room this size it would have come with a refrigerator and/or microwave. These days it is standard for hotel rooms to have this so I was really surprised that it wasn't included which made it a little frustrating because we had gone out to eat and had food left over that we took back with us and had no place to store it. Wasn't the end of the world it just would have been nice to have it there. I know breakfast was Continental so it wasn't bad to have cereal or some fruit or the choice to make waffles enough to get a little something into you before you leave. Shuttle service has select hours that you have to reserve ahead of time so they offer you the choice to do Uber or Lyft if it were nice enough we could have walked. Hotel could use a little more updating especially throughout the hallway and the room could have used an extra lamp or two just to give some additional lighting, otherwise it was not a bad stay

Thank you for your feedback on our hotel. We looking to do some renovations on the hotel in the near future. We are looking into adding in extra lighting and refrigerators in our standard rooms. This will take some time to finalize but we have taken notice and are taking action to add these articles in. With this we hope to make future stay for you and all of our guest that much more enjoyable!
