This impressive pyramid receives very little attention. While the signage leaves much to be desired the pyramid is definitely worth a visit. If you don't have a guide you should probably do some online research before arriving

An archaeological site with one of the largest pyramids in the region, on the northern edge of Mesoamerica. It dates primarily to the Late Classic after the fall of Teotihaucan and before the rise of the Toltecs in Tula, Hidalgo. There is some evidence of other temples and plazas and a ball court. Work is ongoing and the growth of El Pueblito has encroached on most of the site. There is a nice, but small museum and guided tours. Worth a visit, especially if you do not plan on visiting any of the other archaeological sites in the area.

This is a small site with one main pyramid and surrounding structures. The grounds are beautiful. We really enjoyed the energy and ambiance and would recommend this as a day out from Queretaro. It is easy to get to on the no 65 bus or a taxi will cost around 60 pesos.

It isnt the best pyramid in Mexico. You cannot climb it and it has not been rebuilt. But it is worth a quick selfie
