The hotel is situated in the very water front of Subic Bay, that is their key advantage. Because its in Subic, the place is peaceful and I felt secured. I like the idea of having no elevator as I will be obliged to use the stairs, that served as my warm up before going into jogging or walking at the bay up to the safe streets of Subic. The hotel ambiance is okay, the room is okay as well but the time we checked in, amenities were lacking considering that we already gave them the full details as to how many persons will be staying during reservation. We requested for an extra bed but was given a very thin one. Our colleague didn't used that and just utilized the long couch. No pillows were given as well for the extra bed requested. Apparently, towels need to be replaced already. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Overall, stay was okay.

Room Tip: Choose Bay View room

We took 5 rooms together with my colleagues the hotel was right in front of the Subic Bay the best bayview and very convenient if you like to sweat in the morning with an awesome view of the bay and park, the food is savory I tried hook ( tuna and shrimp salpicao ) one of the best and must try and thanks to joshua he is very attentive during breakfast, the only things to improve is the shower drainage I tried 2 rooms and its the same clogging issue and also the receptionist doesn't give extra master key card even its a triple or quadruple occupants they only give you one.

Stayed here in October/November last year and tried to book again for February but was totally booked for a week that we needed. Stayed in a couple of substandard places in Olongapo until we could get back in to The Reef. An absolute pleasure to be back. Try and get a bay or harbour view room.

Fact: The rooms take time to cool down. My suggestion to the hotel is to turn it on before people check-in just so, you know, they'd be comfortable. Might just be the timing since it's almost summer but we had to request a fan to cool ourselves down and get the needed rest.

Fact: Don't consider deluxe rooms if stairs is not your thing. All deluxe rooms are on the 3rd floor. And uhm, the hotel does not have any elevators and the staircase is designed so that you'd take a small loop before getting on to the next flight of stairs. The only upside of higher floors is the ocean view that it comes with.

Other than those, in my opinion, their prices are a bit on the high side relative to those within the area and those that have swimming pools. I don't think there is a lot of value for money staying at the Reef. Just my two cents.

A hotel with good location. Try to get a room on higher floor with an ocean view.
It was quiet, not many people in the hotel though we stayed there on January 1-2. Disadvantages: small bad and very noisy aircon.
