This has been my favourite Korean restaurant in Subic for a few years. And there are many Korean restaurants to choose from. It's not easy to get to if you don't have a car as it's tucked up in Upper Cubi in the hills above the airport, but it's well worth the drive to get there. You may need a crash course in deciphering the menu but the staff are very helpful. Great service, great food and good value. Once you order, you'll be overwhelmed with the array of free small dishes of kimchi, dried fish, veggies and assorted Korean tidbits that change day by day. If you like spicy, try the spicy squid served on noodles. My favourites are the jabchae and the beef brisket cooked at your table and served with garlic, lettuce leaves and a dip of sesame oil and seasoning. The meal usually ends with complimentary dessert, but not always. Not sure why that is. The drinks menu is a bit limited, but it suffices, and they always have cold San Miguel beers. My only complaint is not directed at this restaurant in particular, but I always have a really hard time wielding the long, skinny, metal Korean chopsticks. Luckily the disposable wood ones are on hand for those of us who are challenged by utensils. This place gets really busy in the evenings and is extremely popular with Korean workers from the local Hanjin shipyard across the bay.
