Nice place it can be loud at time, decent food menu and beer selection. The food is good and priced reasonably. Arrive early as they tend to get very busy.
This place is closed permanently. I was very excited to visit a place like this in Canton . They should check their place for not to be announced in your platform
St. Lawrence Brewing Co. opened their doors about two years ago. After sampling their variety 4 pack of brews, we were hooked. Their Maple Porter is our favorite. But alas, we read in our local paper they are closing.
St Lawrence has been perfecting their brewing over the past few years and has achieved a very fine level. They also feature live music on occasion. They only have limited snacks and food items so eat elsewhere.
I've been trying to get to SLB since they opened a few years ago, and finally on an early Saturday evening in Canton, we made it! They're located just off the main drag, on a looping lane that goes right by the jail! In fact, the front door looks out at the local correctional institute!
The tasting room is a large, lounge like space with a bar and also comfy chairs.
You can buy a taster train of 5 good sized samples for 6$. A good deal on it's own, and a great chance to taste their beers. Or you can buy a pint to sit back and relax with.
I'm not going to review the beers specifically because taste is very subjective. Let's just say that Canton is a college town, so this place is following the current trend of IPA'ing everything.
My only quibble with the SLB is that they're only open evenings, while my group likes to do beverage sampling trips during the day. All the area wineries are open daytime only. I believe SLB is missing out on a significant portion of the curious drinker audience. However I can see their point of catching night time drinking business.
