We have stayed at Ostrander's twice now while visiting our daughter at SUNY Canton and enjoyed the Pond house. Having never stayed at a B&B before it was wonderful!!! Rita puts out some delicious food and is accommodating for people with dietary concerns. Al gave us a great tour of the barn and a history of the area. I should keep this gem to myself but it is to beautiful to not share.

We have joined the Ostranders twice. They are a friendly couple, and they have an extremely clean home. Rita puts out a spread for breakfast that is lovely with great variety. Al is very happy to provide you with a tour of the barn and introduce you to the sheep. I have hay allergies, but the barn is far enough away that it did not bother me at all.

I stayed at Ostrander's while my son attended Freshman Orientation at SUNY Potsdam. My room (the Curtis Room) was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfasts prepared by Rita were plentiful and delicious. Rita's and Al's hospitality and conversation made me feel like I was visiting friends. I look forward to returning to Ostrander's over the next four years while my son is in college.

We stayed in the Pond House for four nights and were serenaded by a bullfrog each night. The cottage is just like I remember "tourist homes" in small upstate towns when I was a kid fifty years ago: neat, clean and pleasant. Although the Pond House has its own kitchen, we chose to eat breakfast in Al and Rita's home. Rita is a wonderful baker and the breakfasts were an enjoyable way to start the day: tasty food and great stories.
Now that we've stayed at the Ostrander's B&B, we'll go back because over the past twenty years it is the best place we've stayed in the North Country!

My wife and i recently stayed at the Ostrander's B&B and the experience was outstanding! We were in Canton, NY for our Grand Daughter's High School Graduation. The accomodations (Room in the main house), the surrounding (Beautiful Property with Pond and Water feature), and the exceptional Breakfast (Thank you Rita). As if the above were not enough, we also were able to tour this working farm property (Thank you Al). We were given a tour of the barn and animals, plus a brief history lesson on the farm. We will definitely return to visit our family in Canton. We highly recommend the Ostrander's Bed and Breakfast!!
