Very welcoming and friendly staff, and the owner went out of his way to introduce himself and talk about the motel, the area and where to eat. Good size rooms, completely renovated bathroom, couldn't ask for a nicer stop along Route 66.

Thanks so much for the kind review! We try hard. May be the only Vintage Route 66 motel still owned and operated by the family that built the property in the 50's and 60's. Hurry back! Mike and Debbie Pogue = owners

Nice, clean, and comfortable local motel. Beds were great and loved the pillows. I so enjoyed the small stainless steel alarm clock with the clock face and glow in the dark hands. It just made me smile. Owner cooked us a great omelet with a local chili sauce served with huge fresh strawberries. Only awkward thing was there was no seatinh where the breakfast was served. It was a beautiful morning so we just ate on the bench outside.

At first glance, it looked a little antiquated, but read on. We checked in, room had two queen sized beds and after my inspection (former military officer) I was so pleased as the linens were so high quality and the bathroom was the cleanest I have ever used. The room was very comfortable even though a spring blizzard was happening. The staff was very hospitable and there was coffee in the morning along with cereal and some muffins to get your day started. Would stay there again.

Room tip: This place is quaint and spotless clean.

Follow the reviews on trip advisor to this place on while passing through. Great vintage Route 66 motel. Has all the quirks of places I stayed in as a kid. Very clean and friendly. Anyone who appreciate the the past will love this place.

THANKS SO MUCH KENNETH! My family built our small motel in the 50's and 60's. To our knowledge, we are the last route 66 motel still owned and operated by the family that originally built the property. Trip Advisor allows independent motels like the Sunset Motel to do well, so long as we do a good job of offering a superb product at a reasonable price. Thanks for taking time to write this. Please hurry back! Mike and Debbie Pogue - owners.

A classic hotel with large rooms, comfy beds and really fantastic owners. They were kind and helpful. It is an older building so things have their quirks, but it’s full of character and very clean. Great continental breakfast too!
