San Marcos Cafe is a local favorite with many. Located about eight miles south of the city line, it's far enough out of town for a "getaway" but close enough to be somewhat convenient. The building is quaint and loaded with character, the food is always very good and the wait staff is mostly personable (there was this one waitress who never seemed to be very friendly but we haven't seen her in a while). Prices are maybe a little on the higher side (maybe 10-20% lower would be more in line) but for an occasional treat the San Marcos Cafe should be on your list of places to visit.
