In the Philippines, senior citizens over 60 are issued senior cards by the government. With this ID seniors can avail of discounts in restaurants, hotels, medicine, domestic air and land travel.
The Swiss Chalet in Angeles City has taken it in their own hands to decide who's cards they accept and which they reject. As the senior citizens discount cards are issued by the government of the Republic of the Philippines the management of Swiss Chalet is advised to complain/dispute with the respective issuing Municipality/City and not enter into a lengthy dispute with customers.
It is only in Angeles City, that certain establishments refuse to accept senoir Iďs. NOWHERE else in the Philippines had I ever a problem.
Any business establishment in the Philippines is obliged by the Bureau of Internal Revenue to issue official receipts. We was only issued an official receipt after a particular request. Needless to say that most if not all patrons leave, without an official receipt.
The above summary might not be an issue for most visitors, particularly international tourists, but it cast a shadow of what else might be wrong in that establishment.
