“Authentic German/Swiss Cuisine in an Old World Europe Atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2017

When in Angeles, I stay at the Central Park Hotel. Just across the street on the back side is the Swiss Chalet. I've many times intended to go there for a meal, but it wasn't until my girlfriend Jenny asked to go there for breakfast (at 1 p.m.) that I actually went. What a missed opportunity!

I've lived in Germany twice for periods of about 3 and 4 years, and have grown to love German food. I can tell you without hesitation that the food offered at the Swiss Chalet is about as close to authentic as can be had anywhere. It's a smallish cozy place, with bare-beams, rustic furnishings and surroundings. They have imported Swiss and German beers, and even have imported apfelwein! All that's missing is the Oompa band!

Service is so-so, but friendly and welcoming. I think the shortcoming is that the wait staff is also the hotel check-in/out staff (the Swiss Chalet is also a small boutique hotel). In any event, after having enough Kampapangan, Korean and American food, it might be worth a try. I found it very satisfying; and it brought back pleasant memories.

“Poor Service, wrong food delivered, overrated, Not worth a visit”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 20, 2016

Have been here many times, because friends wanted to go, and I did not want to rock the boat. Always found the food to be average, the service to be well below average, and the management staff not really caring about the operation. So was back last night with a group, in the past have had cold food, missing food never delivered and several other issues. last night was no different but the last time for me, meal came with wrong side dish. It could have been a easy fix, just give me the correct side order. But no instead the server thought doing nothing and trying to blame the client was the best thing to do. They did not replace with correct order.

So Swiss enjoy your 9000 phps as you will never get another pesos from me. In fact if my friends push going again I will offer to pay for their meals in another place so no issues. If management cares so little for the front of the house, the back kitchen must be a disaster waiting to happen. Would not be surprised to know that they use standards that would cause the health department to close the place if in a first World country.

Have travel to over 80 countries and Swiss Restaurant is one of the most over rated place I have been in. Would not recommend them ever.

“Breakfast with Brother In Law”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 15, 2016

Came back again with my beautiful wife and now brother in law and his girlfriend. The combination breakfasts were still very huge, although seemed to have slightly less meat than last time I was here. The service was impeccable and the coffee is to die for. Always free wifi and decent parking outside. This is the place for breakfast, period, even if slightly smaller, the meal is still huge and most people may just be able to barely finish it. Come over and check it out.

“Reliable Swiss/German Cuisine”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 8, 2016

If you’re looking for reliably good food in Angeles City, this is a good choice. The menu is extensive with all sorts of Swiss/German specialties, steaks and even Filipino dishes, if you’re bringing Pinoy friends.

Once you are inside, you’ll find a comfortable room with seating for about 30-40 people. There is a nice salad bar in the middle of the room. There is also a foyer which also has seating for another 20+. The restaurant can get loud when it is full, but never too loud to have a nice conversation.

Service is fast and polite. The wait staff speaks pretty good English, so communication is easy. I’ve never had to wait long for my food here. I’ve tried the Wiener Schnitzel, the Älplermac (sort of a macaroni and cheese dish), and the Chateaubriand. I’ve been satisfied with all of those dishes, taking into consideration that they don’t always have the best quality ingredients to work with in the Philippines.

One thing to be aware of is that that the restaurant is located just a block from the main drag of the “Red Light District”, so you will be surrounded by bars, street vendors and homeless people. If that makes you uncomfortable, you might want to have one of the local “trike” drivers take you there, rather than walking through that area.
