We went here with friends for a nice dinner, and I have to say that this is probably the nicest restaurant in Livingston. They have the largest wine menu in town. The salmon was excellent, service was great. They have a display case of whole fish on ice so you can see what specials they are making for the day. The check was not small, to say the least.

Their fresh fish grilled options are always delicious. Last nite it was a hard choice between pink or red snapper, dory, black bass and a few others. All were white flaky fish and grilled with olive oil. You pay by the pound so whatever size filet you get it is easy to determine the price. The appetizers of lobster salad in a pita had 3 pieces and the Greek meatballs had 5. Both were great. Desserts were also tasty. We had the usual baklava and sorbets, profiteroles and a mousse type pastry.
Beautiful ambience in the room with the floor to ceiling fireplace but the AC was turned up really high so was glad I had a jacket.

After passing this place
Many times and reading the overwhelmingly positive, glowing reviews we were excited to give this place a shot and so we booked dinner for our family of four last night. The structure itself is very nice and the decor inside is nice enough.

We arrived and waited around 10 minutes before we we're seated towards the back.

Took a long time for the waiter to get to us but finally did and we ordered.

Nice Greek upscale menu with prices to put. We're taking $36-40 dollar
Fish and Meat entrees. Anyway to cut a long story short appetizers came out pretty quickly but then the real problems
Began. We waited 40 mins for our entrees to arrive and I had to go up to the hostess to get some
Sort of urgency as the waiter had literally disappeared. No apology no nothing.
Food came out and it was fine but nothing that special.

Paid our bill and left.

Not impressed and not coming back.

Don't judge a book by its cover? Totally appropriate here. It looks unassuming and plain from the outside. In fact, its been a few different restaurants over the years. The most recent owners really did a terrific job transforming it. The bar area is very nice, inviting, and makes very well crafted cocktails. Even the "Shirley Temples" are very good. They use real grenadine. The decor is upscale in both dining rooms. We have eaten here 5-6 times and sat somewhere different each time. Last week, we were seated in this little semi private cove in the back. We loved it. They also have a really nice party room downstairs if you are looking to host a family event or swank birthday bash. I am married to a Greek and have been to Greece 6 times, so lets just say, we're discriminating when it comes to Greek food. We really like the food here. The seafood items are always nicely done, elegant in the simplicity. They don't make it too fussy. The lamb shank is always good. The appetizers are a nice sample of Greek taverna-style food and some with a twist. We had the Greek salad, grilled octopus (always), and the lobster souvlaki which was an interesting take on a lobster roll. All were good but needed more lemon. We got it quickly when we asked for it. We have had the zucchini frite before, along with calamari, and some of the more traditional appetizers. Its all very good. The entrees are on the menu, the only special is the fish of the day. We had a whole bass, a whole porgie (I forgot the Greek word for it), lamb shank, salmon, filet mignon and scallops. All were nicely done. Nothing is amazing, but I'll take consistently good over randomly amazing most of the time. The service is good, again, consistent, not great. We tried some very good wine from Santorini. This restaurant does a good job of showcasing some of the newer and better wines coming out of Greece over the past few years.
