A must visit! Spectacular! Rivals any falls you’ve ever seen. Walk, hike photograph and find a peaceful perch!

This place is beautiful in all seasons, but especially in the spring when the waters run fast and deep, and in the fall when the reds and oranges are reflected in the still waters.

One of our favorite books for ideas of where to go and what to do is "New England Waterfalls" by Parsons and Watson. These falls are in this book, so we stopped by on our way to Welton Falls. Very accessible falls, meaning it is very crowded on a warm day. I could barely see the falls for the people. The falls would probably be more spectacular after a hard rain. As falls go, they aren't very memorable. Do go by if you're in the neighborhood, but don't make a special trip to see them.

It's a great find for a variety of purposes. If you want to picnic, nice spots. Has trails that are actually the remnants of former roads, so there very broad. Also extremely flat. They are used a lot for horses in the summer and spring, by sled dog teams in the winter, and bikes 3 seasons. But you're allowed to hunt there in those seasons which is done a lot. So I avoid using it during that season.
The falls themselves get small in the summer, too powerful to be safe in the early spring, but are quite pretty. Its not my favorite area to swim. I would choose a local mountain stream, like sculptures rocks, or the lake in town, Newfound.

With a short walk through the woods, one sort of steep and narrow part of the path and a few rocks to navigate, you come to the memorable view that is Profile falls. There seemed to be a couple dozen people hanging out and a half dozen swimming in the pool below the falls, The bugs weren't too bad but be careful of the poison ivy on the sides of the walk below the falls.
