“Fun short hike”
Review of Pine Creek Trail

Pine Creek Trail
Reviewed 2 September 2017

I liked this short hike a lot. It was mostly in the shade which was nice on a hot day. The falls are pleasant and there are several places to see the creek along the way. It make a nice picnic hike.

My thirteen-year-old son and I hiked this trail and found out there are not one but two amazing waterfalls! We really enjoyed our walk. It is a little crowded on a sunny Saturday afternoon.

We brought our dogs to hike up to the falls. Very dog-friendly with water crossings for cooling off. It is a bit of a hike, but clearly well-used and a great way to burn some calories.

This is a grueling hike, especially after the waterfall. This was early in the season, so the trail is unmarked, and people created their own snow trail...making it hard to know what the real trail is. Make sure you take enough water, Gators for boots, watch out for snow that may give way around the boulders that you have to hike upon. Come prepared....

Not too difficult and not a cake walk either. I highly recommend good shoes or boots that are already broken in before adventuring here. I didn't and suffered twice. Twice because I didn't learn the first time. Walking sticks help too. It's a fairly easy hike to the waterfall and a little more challenging to the big lake which is past the smaller one. The weather can change from good to worse without notice so be prepared. Best to have layers of clothing that you can peel off and put on to stay comfortable. If you like hiking, fishing, and camping this is one of the best places on earth to do all three. Oh, and dog friendly too! But please be responsible and pick up after your dog.
