Climbing a sand dune sounds like a walk in the park. It isn't. I'm in my mid-fifties and reasonably active; I ended up clinging to what felt like a sheer wall of sand moving ten paces at a time and exhausted. Bear in mind that the higher you go the steeper it is, and the more friable the sand. Don't even think of doing it in hot sun; we climbed in the evening. It is a fabulous view but think hard whether you really want to climb all the way up.
