we had a great short time here (even we stayed for 4 days, mostly we spent the time outside the hotel :(.

the hotel is in the middle of the traditional village, comprises several individual rooms/villas in a different compound but still in one complex. it is a beautiful hotel. we love the bar, we love the pond and we love the natural beauty of surrounding village.

our rooms (krisna and gareng room) were spacious with big bed (i think 3 adults will be comfortable enough to sleep :) and 1 day bed. all villas have very nice traditional interior design and in my rooms because of the roof, it is always dusty especially in the afternoon (unfortunately when we stayed there it was windy days so dust is everywhere - need to consider to change the type of the roof :))

my only complaint was there were no hot water in my room (Krisna room) during my stay there (4 days). the Housekeeping always came when we called them and "fixed" the problem but apparently never been solved. it was happening again and again.

the hotel staff was very attentive to your needs and very helpful. thumbs up for them.

and yes for the morning prayer calls, for those who are not used to it, better to wear the earplug provided by the hotel. it is quite loud (even for me, indonesian, who used to it)

Dear Ibu Onnen2015,

Greetings from the village!
Thank you for sparing us your time writing about us on TripAdvisor, it really means so much to us.
We, too, thought that your stay was too short! hahaha. d'Omah is indeed a place where you just wanna hang out around the hotel, walking in the surrounding village, dipping in the swimming pool, cycling or riding horse carriage through the village, or just doing some massage in the SPA. No worries, there will always be another day for that.
We're glad that you liked and enjoyed the rooms, and we apologize for the water pad that took you more effort to adjust the hot/cold water. We surely take it into our serious attention.
As for the morning prayer calls, it is indeed happening everyday in the village and as it is something that we cannot change, all we can do to ensure the guests' comfort is by providing earplugs in the room for the light sleeper.

We look forward to welcoming you home again soon!

Warm Regards,
Dimas

hotel in local neighboorhood, you can rent an 'andong' to take a local tour, or you can just grab a bike that provided in the front office building.
hav a big deluxe room, with a big bed, an extra daybed and 2 seaters inside room, and another private balcony with comfy seater.

Room Tip: there is some room type, you can choose which room you want to stay, each room has different interior and bathroom

Dear Pak Yonas,

Greetings from d'Omah!
Thank you for sparing us your time writing about us on TripAdvisor with your kind review.
Our andong (Horse carriage) is indeed available everyday and it stands by in front of the lobby during breakfast just in case anyone is ready for an adventure through the village! We're glad that you liked your room and enjoyed your stay with us.

Hopefully we'll meet again sooner than we thought!

Warm Regards,
Dimas

Book via hotel website, got upgrade from 2 bedroom villa to 2 bedroom villa with private pool, yiiippiii. My kid was really happy with the pool.
The 2 bedroom villa mean 2 separate building/house, the rooms are nice, spacious, clean at the beginning but since the houses are traditional they got easily dusty/dirty from the leaf roof.
Surrounded with gardens and ponds (some ponds are not well maintained) so expect for mosquitoes and insects around you.
Location is at the real Javanese village, downtown is about 40mins by car. It is a quite place, some of my family found it spooky, but it 's really depends on your preference, If you like serenity you'll find it there.
F&B was great but pricey for Yogya standard, we were there at ramadhan, we had ifthar dinner, hotel gave a lot of free condiments and for breakfast/sahur, the staff delivered the meal to the room, it was a lot of food, great taste so overall we were happy with it.

Dear Ibu Dian,

Greeting from d'Omah Village Resort.
Thank you for sparing us your time writing about us on TripAdvisor.
However I'm a little bit surprised by the 3 stars you have given us for if looking by your review at the end of the paragraph you were mentioning that the overall stay was great and you were happy with that.
We're glad knowing that you were happy when we informed you that we upgraded your booking to a Two Bedrooms Villa with a private swimming pool. As our villas and rooms are located in the more than 3 hectares of garden filled with greeneries and tropical trees all over the place, leaves falling from the trees are a common thing we see on the daily basis, what we need to emphasize is that our gardeners and housekeepers are always there to clean them up every single day. What we need to remember from the private villa is the cleaning procedure for the private villas. In order to keep the privacy of the guests, our gardeners and housekeepers will clean up the villas when the guests are out of the room or when the guests request us. Our daily cleaning procedure is twice, one time in the morning and one time in the late afternoon along with the turn-down-service. We apologize if during your stay the leaves around the garden or at the top of the traditional roof bothered you.

As for the pools that we have so many with different type and character of each swimming pool, you may found one is not suitable for you for it's the mood or the color of the old tiles we use as the base of the swimming pools, but that is one of those ways to keep our swimming pools blending with the whole concept of traditional Javanese style. Therefore when you are at d'Omah you will see the less ceramic place taht really close to your grandparents home in the village.

I would like to revise your mentioning about the distance of our place to the city center. d'Omah is 25 minutes away from the city center so 40 minutes will be a little bit over the top. You can reach the airport in 40 minutes by the way.

At the end, we understand that we couldn't please everyone but believe me, it is our character to serve every single of our guests to feel like being at home, and we apologize if we fell short in one or two things for you.

As for the food in our restaurant, we're happy knowing that you enjoyed the service we gave you and the taste of the menu spreads.

We hope that it wouldn't be your last visit to d'Omah for our staff will always look forward to welcoming you home again.

Warmest Regards,
Dimas

Our family really enjoyed our stay at the d'omah Hotel in Yogyakarta. It was truly a cultural experience to stay in an Indonesian village. We enjoyed walking around the village and the grounds of the resort. The food and staff at the hotel was a true highpoint. The dining room sits next to a lovely pond full of Lotus flowers and every meal we had was outstanding. All of the staff was helpful and kind. The hotel arranged a driver so the first day we explored Yogy and second we went to Borobudur. Another highpoint was our experience learning how to make batik in the artist studio next to the hotel. The only downside was the nightly call to prayer on speakers and Ramadan celebrations. After the first night we all slept with the provided ear plugs which made a huge difference. I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: We enjoyed rooms with a private pool which was a great place to relax.

Dear sylh00d,

Greetings from d'Omah!
You know we can't thank you enough for writing such a fabulous review on TripAdvisor. We're glad knowing that you enjoyed your stay with us at d'Omah. d'Omah is indeed set in the middle of an authentic Javanese in the southern part of Yogyakarta, meaning that there will be village everyday activity involved in experience including the sound of the prayer calls chants that increasing during Ramadhan Celebration in most part of Indonesia. Thank you for informing us that the earplugs we provide in each rooms helped reducing the noise.

Thank you for your kind help to recommend d'Omah to your family and friends.

We look forward to welcoming you home again.

Warm Regards,
Dimas
