The Apple Barrel Cider Mill is a very interesting alternative to the commercialized mills with hordes of people. Cider is still pressed with the old fashioned press behind a window where you can watch the whole process. As we live nearby we often stop in. Also, when we have out of state visitors, this is a for sure stop! Their donuts are said to the best in the area. (I eat very few donuts, but often hear raves about them!) One perk is a free cup of coffee for everyone who wants one! I can attest to the great homemade pies and wonderful fudge though! Spring and summer they have beautiful plants and hanging baskets for sale and hanging all around. I really enjoy the décor. The interior is framed in old hand hewn barn beams with a myriad of antiques on the loft and hanging on the walls. In the fall be sure to call for hours when they are pressing cider as that is the very best!
