Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center
Ranked #13 of 33 Hotels in Detroit
Reviewed December 10, 2017

The Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center is THE PLACE TO STAY when visiting downtown Detroit! I traveled with a group of ladies for a conference, and the hotel was amazing! It is like 70 stories that are somehow divided into two towers. There is a bank of elevators that take you to the 40th floor then another bank of elevators that take you from floors 41-70. Never seen anything like this. There is a GM Showroom in the Renaissance! There is a food court and mini mall inside the Renaissance! And there is Exercise World inside the Renaissance! I mean an entire floor it appears is dedicated to health and wellness. There are like 20 treadmills, 10 ellipticals, a separate room for free weights, a separate room with a smith machine and TRX, and a separate room for yoga! It was literally Exercise World, and I looked forward to getting up every morning to get in my workout. Of course my roommates thought I was crazy, and they were right as my mind was literally blown by the awesomeness of the Renaissance. There was also an art gallery and bars and restaurants and Starbucks and Verizon counter and CVS pharmacy and rows of banquet halls in the Renaissance. It was a perfect place to hold not just our conference but several conferences and wedding parties were going on, and we all fit nicely. Yes, the workers were very professional and nice and did not mind me repeatedly asking for my way around because I would constantly get lost due to the immense size of the Renaissance. Everything we needed was in the Marriott at the Renaissance Center which was in the midst of downtown Detroit across from the Arena and an exit away from entering Canada. I definitely plan to return to this hotel again in the near future and this time with my family.

Room Tip: Take the elevator to Exercise World and look out at the beautiful views!!!!

I was in town for just a single night for business meetings at GM headquarters. This hotel is connected to the offices. Great views. I actually got a workout in at their gym (a rarity on my business trips) which was very well equipped with stunning views. I didn't get to see much of detroit as I never left the building, but the convenience, comfort and views made it an ideal hotel for my visit.

this is a unique hotel in downtown Detroit. built within the world headquarters for GM, the entire complex has a unique design. check-in was easy and staff was quite friendly. rooms are large, clean and quiet. very nice conceirge lounge and exercise room. if you like walking or jogging - is located next to a great area right next to the river. outstanding bar/restaurant just off the lobby. only negative is parking - strongly suggest you use the self parking. valet parking is under construction, and even when it isnt, tends to be a bit slow. virtually all of downtown detroit is within easy walking distance from this facility. highly recommend

The views are amazing especially from the fitness center. The bed was very comfortable and the staff was very sweet. The site has restaurants and shopping so you really don’t have to leave if you didn’t want to. There is security staff everywhere so you feel safe. Also a shout out to Santa for spreading the joy.

I’d like to let people traveling with families know that there are individuals that still show compassion toward people with small travelers it was so refreshing to have Angelique Bell at the front desk working tirelessly to accommodate my family! I am a Gold Member and she made sure she honored my loyalty! That is actually a very important quality for guests! When we got to the room she recommended it was EVERYTHING!!! Check-in was late evening and the kids were tired and she helped me out with great customer service Room is nice! View is Great! Angelique is Awesome!
