Amazing Things Arts Center puts on all kinds of great music and performances in an old converted firehouse in downtown Framingham. Go online and check out their schedule. This could be in JP, Davis Square, Fort Point- before they got gentrified. The artists that got chased out by rising rents are here too, in two loft/warehouse buildings nearby that have regular open studios. The neighborhood is diverse, true, but we live near here and come here all the time to attend performances and to eat in the cool restaurants downtown. It's very popular. There's easy parking, too.

The Arts Center is in an old fire station and it's very cute.
Small venue, and if you like the performers you can be very close to them. It's a good value, although they haven't been able to book any big name acts.

We ALL love performing at the Amazing Things Arts Center. We bring a clown car full of drums and percussion instruments.. and provide G-rated musical ventriloquist comedy and edutainment for everyone. Join Doug the talking Dog, Dino the Dinosaur and other dummies in our Drum Circles. Try playing the Irish Bodhrán, Tahitian Toeré, Trinidadian mini-steel drum and other percussion instruments also available for everyone. ATTENTION CHILDREN: Doug the Talking Dog will not bite you. He only bites Mommies and Daddies. However, he may try to bite your drumsticks, tambourine, or maracas that we distribute to everyone.

We heard that Garnet Rogers was playing here so off we went. The Center is an old Fire Hall. Ed at the counter was really helpful and showed us around...we had dropped in in the afternoon before the performance. We enjoyed his company and especially his suggestions for a place to eat. The evening's entertainment was marvelous. We hadn't heard Tom Smith before but enjoyed his songs and singing . He opened for Garnet. The theater space is small so it is intimate...great for meeting the performers afterwards. We enjoyed meeting people in the audience too. Terrific evening..was given a poster by Ellen and it will be a nice memento. We'll be back!
