This collective piece of floating history gives you the opportunity to experience first hand the US Navy ships above and below decks.
While the Battleship may be the draw the submarine was my favorite. It was very poignant hearing a seaman recount his experience in the torpedo room and also the fact that they were the silence ships of WWII due to the fact that they operated in secrecy returning to shore unannounced
The Battleship is a hide and seek experience for all.
Don’t forget to climb into the 16” gun on the rear deck most people we met missed it.
There were no guides available on Good Friday when we were there
Would be great if there was an audio tour option here or if it was more interactive

The star of Battleship Cove is the Battleship Massachusetts. This ship participated in multiple engagements in WWII. The big 16" guns, 9 on 3 huge turrets, are so impressive. It's hard to imagine these guns firing 2,800 lb projectiles 20 miles. Talk about fire and fury! There are endless displays throughout the ship, including WWI, Korea, and Vietnam.
Other ships on display include a destroyer and PT boats. The day we visited was quite cold and windy, so our visit was shorter than we would have liked, however a military history enthusiast could spend many hours at Battleship Cove.
