You can't go wrong at this restaurant. If you've never been there before, you'll definitely pass it by the first time as it's situated in a tiny strip mall in between tons of car dealerships. Inside decor is totally different. Super elegant and inviting. Servers are TOP NOTCH! 5 star every time. Best Italian Food ever. The only complaint I have is too much salt for me. I can't eat here every week, but it's definitely one of our favorite special occasion restaurants.

We were in Washington DC for then Inauguration and staying in Maryland and needed a place to eat. We used Trip Advisor and came up with Il Pizzico. The site did not disappoint, the restaurant was outstanding. It was mentioned that it was an Italian Restaurant and in all my travels, I must say it was right up there among the best I have eaten at. We were able to get right in. The restaurant was clean and we were approached very quickly. The owner greeted us at the door and it was very inviting.

There were 3 of us and here is what we had:

• Spaghetti Allo Scoglio - spaghetti with mussels, shrimp, scallops, calamari in tomato sauce - this was outstanding.....plenty of seafood and the sauce (a staple of any Italian dish) was excellent

• Capriccio Di Mare - a mixture of seafood and fish in tomato sauce ...... we also coupled this with a side of pasta and fresh spinach - again, perfect tomato sauce, fresh and plenty of seafood, it was excellent

• Pollo Al Marsala - chicken breast in Marsala sauce - tender, moist chicken in a perfect Marsala sauce

It was definitely a bit pricey but worth it. We walked out of there satisfied, with leftovers and had the experience of an excellent meal. The portions were reasonable. If I had any small complaint, it was that there really wasn't a reasonable bottle of white wine. The food prices are high enough (worth it) that they should offer a reasonable bottle of white wine.

The food is very good but extremely pricey. But the menu has great desserts. I'm not sure why they charge so much for basic ingredients.

This is a hidden gem located in a shopping center. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, the only downside is the tables are pretty close together. The timballo (eggplant) and gnocchi were delicious and the tiramisu was the best we've had in a long time (if ever). The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. We had dinner on a Saturday shortly after they opened. By the time we finished all the tables were occupied and people were waiting since they don't take reservations. This is one of the better restaurants in Rockville.

This warm, welcoming, beautiful restaurant with exquisite food and wine is somewhere you can go when you want to be transported to a magical place. The outside of this restaurant in a strip mall might make you think it is an empty ordinary pizza kitchen. Just open the door and discover how nice life can be for an hour or two that you won't forget❤️️
