I do enjoy staying at Holiday Inn Express, so when I looked online I choose here because it was close to 6 Flags amusement park, but there is really nothing else near there, It was clean, nice rooms, okay breakfast, The office staff not very friendly. I also was disappointed in the pool restrictions. If the life guard is not present then you are not allowed in the pool. Sunday it closed early and Monday it was open from 6pm to 10pm. You were not allowed in it at all during the day. My children were also disappointed. Please be advised if you choose this place for the pool. We had points for Sunday and Monday night we paid $195.00. On Tuesday we stayed at a different hotel.

Better than I expected :)

I thought it was a little over priced at 1st, but the rooms were clean, pretty up to date and the staff was very friendly. They let us check in a little early, and when I asked what time check out was, they told me the time and asked if that was ok! The breakfast was nothing fancy, but good. For my preference, the location was good. I did not want to be around all the traffic, which made the closest store a few minutes away, but that was ok with me. I would definitely stay here again :)

Just right

Staying here for a funeral but will also take the opportunity to see some DC sights since we're from the west coast. The young lady (I think the name tag read Sonriva but not sure) who greeted us upon check-in was extremely kind, suggesting nearby places to eat since our room was not available. She promised a room at noon (check-in is 3 pm) and when we returned it was ready. We were exhausted and ready to sleep. Believe me, the red-eye flight can tire the best. The hotel's location is convenient, the room is clean and spacious, and because it's a HIE there is always free breakfast.

Consistent quality and cleanliness

I've stayed here many times before and will probably stay here again soon.

I've been to this hotel probably 10 times over the last 5+ years. Nothing has changed during this time. It is consistently clean and nice.

The staff has changed over the years but are always more than adequate. Not always the best service but never had a major issue. The last time I visited (May 2016), the service was very good at the front desk and from the breakfast lady.

Very nice stay

Came to the D.C. area and chose this hotel. The location is nice with a free shuttle to the nearby Metro station. The staff was friendly and very willing to answer questions we had. The breakfast was great. The employees constantly checked on it and made sure everything was fresh. Highly recommend this hotel!

Convenient location

We stayed here using reward points on a trip to Annapolis. It was a last-minute booking or I probably got a closer hotel.
I was greeted as a reward member and given a treat bag.
The staff was very friendly and pleasant. Our room wasn't ready so the desk attendant gave us a different room. When we went up to the room, the key cards didn't work. The pad didn't light up at all, so I knew something was amiss. I went back down and she checked the cards. She had a maintenance guy go up with us to try. Cards still didn't work but his master key card did. He ran back down to get a different room. Third time was the charm. We definitely ended up with a nicer room than the one I booked. It looked like a king suite.
I went back down to park my car and the desk attendant was so concerned and asked if she could do anything else for us. I told her the room was great and we were fine. She really was concerned. The room upgrade was more than enough to make me happy.
The room was spacious. We watched tv in the sitting room. Couch was fairly comfortable there was a fridge and Keurig machine also in the room.
We had a King bed. The bed wasn't super comfortable, I've noticed this about Holiday Inn brand hotels for the most part.
Since we were in a room right by the highway, I expected it to be noisy in the room but it wasn't.
Breakfast was typical for a hotel. They had cinnamon rolls and pancakes along with the standard fare.
Did not use the pool or exercise room. Nor did we use the weird food vending machine. Could've used a drink vending machine or even a drinking fountain. Ended up buying $3 water at the pantry.
It was about 30-40 minutes to Annapolis from the hotel, depending on construction and traffic.
Pleasant stay with great staff.
