I have been here 3x. Twice with a tent and once with a motorhome. I love this place and the proximity to rail to DC. Leave your car and head out for the day. Make sure you include travel expenses bus fair and transit system fees.
One time, my tent site was right above i95. The other times I was on RV sites and did not notice the highway noise. The new pods look awesome and I may venture one for next time. Overall, the park has great amenities.
There's a community station to wash dishes in the tent sites so you don't have to bring the "kitchen sink". Minimalists know what I'm talking about.

WE are just overnighting, but we have stayed before. The park has transportation to DC. If you want to check out the national museums and sites, there are plenty. The price of the park is better when you consider the Museums are free. There is something for everyone. The zoo is great too!
The RV park has a hot tub, store, cafe, and internet at the sites. There is a playground. Pool in season.
It is nice to take a break between beltways if you are traveling 95.

We love the zoo, too, and the Smithsonian collection of free museums is definitely a national treasure! Thanks for visiting with us - sounds like we might see you again soon!

The staff was very polite and helpful. We stayed for 17 days without any problems at all. WiFi is terrific as they have upgraded the system, full bars. Sites are large and roomy, easy to park a large RV. They have all kinds of sites with nice pull through sites for large RVs. All sites are gravel which is a slight minus but they are maintained very well. All of the bathhouses that we have been in were very clean and modern. The laundromats were very nice as were the exercise area. They have their own propane truck that comes right to your site. The camp store is really nice and has many items that might be needed in an emergency. The store is not overpriced as some are. This park has a basic fee and doesn't nickel and dime the hell out of you. One big plus is that the park is the start of the bus line with a station right at the entrance. The bus will take you right to the train station which will take you right into Washington, DC. The system is great, the bus was $1 senior, $2 adult and the train was $2.50 with transfers free. Getting around DC is easy with the great Metro system. Most of the Smithsonian's are within a couple of minutes walking from a Metro station. Other campers seemed as happy as us.

We used trip advisor to locate this R V park. It had the best accessibility to DC. They were very accommodating, easy to use everything. We would recommend this well planned and staffed park and we plan to return sometime.

Took our scout troop on a trip to Washington DC last May and camped here for the weekend. Nice place, clean facilities. Nice small group tenting area near the showers. Easy to get in and out of the campground and drive to the city to sight see every day. It was unseasonably warm/hot this weekend and they had the pool open. The boys enjoyed it and we had a great trip overall. I would recommend it.
