My wife and I spent the weekend at the Craignair for our 4th anniversary. We had gotten a great Groupon rate, and were excited to spend our vacation on the ocean. The inn is very unassuming when you drive up to it, tucked several miles back at the end of a residential road. Inside you see a lot of its history, and the colonial revival elements are a nice touch.
Breakfast is included as part of the stay, and both of the breakfasts we had were very tasty. Blueberry pancakes and scrambled eggs with lots of veggies one day, and blueberry muffins, fritata, and home fries the next. Both included fresh fruit.
The Craignair also serves dinner, and again, don't let the simplicity fool you. The food was restaurant-quality, especially my wife's salmon dish.
The room was clean and comfortable. The only thing I missed from your typical hotel stay was no mini-fridge. I had some leftovers from earlier in the day that I had to toss, unfortunately. Not really their fault, though.
The Inn is pet-friendly, and lots of people had their dogs with them. We did not, but enjoyed having them around.
We'll certainly stay at the Craignair again if we choose to return to Mid-coast Maine in the future.More
