The food was good. The fried cauliflower was excellent but they give you way more chickpeas than actual cauliflower. They do not have mixed drinks but do have an extensive list of beers. Long line to get in if you do not get their early. The key lime tart was wonderful.

My family and I visited Central Provisions end of June 2018. We had a split party, four of us were present and was awaiting three more. We went downstairs to the bar to await our table. The girl bartender downstairs was very rude to us and by the time we went upstairs (10 minutes later ) we were skipped on the list and had to eat at the bar top. The Tapas were average.

Was able to get in by waiting in line Sunday morning for the 11am opening and seated with the first group. They dont take reservations. The food was absolutely incredible and perfect for the brunch crowd. Unbeknownst to us they were a James Beard nominee in 2015. We ordered 5 dishes for three people which was perfect. They recommend sharing and the food comes out as it is prepared which is perfect so you can enjoy 1-2 dishes at a time. Its also fun watching the open air kitchen and how efficiently they workand prepare the food.

I had heard that Portland, Maine had become a foodie center and Central Provisions is central to that.

This is a cute little restaurant with a really interesting, eclectic menu.

They serve smaller plates, kind of tapas style and bring things out when they're ready.

We did not get caviar or oysters but they were featured on the menu.

We ate mostly pescatarian and there were very good choices. What they did with vegetables made me jealous and never want to eat my own home cooking again.

I would love to go back.

The reservation is 1st come, 1st serve and they have an innovative system that can text you when you're table is ready AND can show you how many parties are ahead of you and an estimate of how much time before it's your turn.

We were too full for dessert but they looked interesting although I did not see a chocolate option.

The waitress and staff were lovely and pleasant and knowledgable.

One slight ding is that it was kind of loud some of the time, partly due to some people who were talking on the loud side. I would recommend putting some kind of sound baffle on the mostly bare brick walls.

This is a real treat, definitely try it.

Yummy stop for small plates specialty's and cocktails. Portland is a great foodie town which keeps getting better. Fun times walking around and stopping in for a drink and a snack or an entire meal. Central Provisions offers a great small plates menu. If crowded, go around to the back bar. They also take their mixology very serious. Be sure to stop in.
