We stayed at the Youngtown Inn for two nights in September. If having good cellphone reception or an elevator is important to you then this is not the place for you but otherwise it is like staying in a rural French auberge.
The French owner/chef (Manuel) and his American wife (Maryann) are both delightful people, determined to help you get the most out of your stay. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home. The room was pleasant, spacious, comfortable and clean with a balcony and country views. Tea, coffee and biscuits/cake were available in a delightful first floor common area and the breakfast was good with fresh fruit and a pancake. My wife is coeliac and requires gluten free food so we always research places to stay before booking. We would have no hesitation in recommending the Youngtown Inn to other coeliacs (particularly if they like gluten free pancakes!)

We recently spent four nights at the Youngtown Inn in Lincolnville, ME. We were extremely pleased with our stay. The proprietors, MaryAnn and Manuel, could not have been nicer or more helpful. MaryAnn is a fount of knowledge about the beautiful Maine countryside and Manuel prepares delicious breakfasts for guests and superb dinners in the lovely and intimate dining room. The scenic towns of Camden, Belfast, and Rockland are easy drives from the Inn. A beautiful winery is one-half mile down the road from the Inn, and Acadia National Park is roughly a 90 minute drive. Our room was actually a small suite and perfectly served our needs. We hope to return to the Youngtown Inn and recommend it without reservation.

We spent 2 beautiful days in Camden / Lincolnville, but the stay at the Youngtown Inn B&B and Retaurant was the highlight. We can just recommend this place to everybody who wants to spoil him/herself!

Room Tip: Slightly outside of Camden / Lincolnville, but therefore quiet!

WE spent a week with the Merciers as our hosts. He is a chef, she runs the B&B part. Together they deliver charm, service, comfortable rooms and superb food. They have a deep wine cellar, serve generous breakfasts and will accommodate food sensitivities with panache. At a rough estimate, I'd put the value of each breakfast, per person, at between 20 and 30 dollars. The fruit is always fresh, and the labor-intensive croissants, fait maison - as are all of the bakery products, were delicious. Dinners were perfectly prepared and probably the finest eating we had up there, following very traditional French terrain. Good value for money on the dinners, though a table for 2 done right will run about $200.00 (using a prix-fix menue with wine, aperatif, digestif, and tip). My quibbles: the bed was comfortable, but not supremely so. Also this is Maine, in a 200 year old inn, so we were grateful for whatever air conditioning was to be had (in our case it was a window unit), but central air wouldn't have been the worst thing. Ultimately, while it wasn't the Ritz. it was a far sight more comfortable, airy and breathable than the mold-infested Marriott in Portland. And the company was great.

This off the beaten path Inn has everything you need in a quintessential country inn with all the amenities of a Five star resort!
If you stay, plan on making dinner reservations, because it CAN'T be missed!
The breakfast (included in your nightly stay) is anything but "continental ". Prepared with love and expertise, you will feel pampered like royalty. Friendly faces greet you, and every detail is already thought out. I can't say enough about this beautiful Inn!! I plan on making it a destination any chance I get. Thank you to all of the staff and the owners for making our stay the most memorable ever!
On a side note, there is a multitude of activities nearby! Kayaking, shopping, hiking, arts, music.... a perfect vacation!
