Maine St is a lovely wide, seasonally decorated old style road through the town. There are numerous restaurants and often plantings and lights. It is walkable with a nice tree trimmed mall with paths and benches, but not much is open beyond business hours excerpt restaurants, and not great for window shopping. parking is tough during working hours.

Downtown Brunswick, Maine, is just like the small town, which I grew up in, in Rhode Island. The many, small shops
are a delight to the eyes and pocketbook.

Well-maintained and not yet ruined by "modernization," Maine Street is not quite Norman Rockwell but very much the picture of friendly, cheerful small town and college town commerce. Well worth a stroll to see and shop--galleries, ice cream, etc. Check the website for dates of the farmers' market, outdoor concert series and monthly gallery walks.

Trip to Maine to see the colors, and enjoy some lobster. We stayed @ The Quslity Inn, in Bruswick, ate at Joshua's Restaurant on Main St., and had coffee and donuts at Frostys Donut Shop, which is almost accross from Joshua's. The lobster wass delicious, and the weather was perfect. Some places were getting ready to close, or had closed for the season, but we still had a great time.
