Reasonable Resort

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Apr 15, 2019
Stayed for two nights - downside comments first.

1) Beds have quite sharp wooden corners - quite painful if you bump into them - these need to be rounded off.
2) Quite clearly they have a problem with the sewage system - toilet wouldn't flush properly & I overheard another guest complaint of the same issue.
3) Sliding UPVC doors are just so heavy & hard work to close properly.
4) Prices - expensive compared to similar priced resorts near Alona.
5) Bathroom Shower head needs servicing or replacing - a strong jet of water comes from the middle with weak water flow from other nozzles.
6) WiFi poor in room
7) No tea or coffee making facilities

Upside:

1) Very peaceful & relaxing - nice plants inside and surrounding the property, many birds visiting for the fruit.
2) Pool is immaculate - cleaned every morning.
3) Nice large rooms - very clean.
4) Staff very nice & polite.
5) Shuttle to & from Alona beach works fine.Polite driver.
6) No real hassle getting to and from the place but only if you like walking & exercise.
7) Good breakfast
8) Nice to see signage at the breakfast table to mute phones.
9) Bamboo straws used instead of plastic

Overall we had a nice stay.Normally I avoid small resorts with a pool in the middle as quite often way too much noise - but despite the heavy doors they too a good job re sound proofing. Had a good nights sleep each night.
Date of stay: April 2019
Room Tip: Best to choose an upstairs room as if in ground floor likely to be noise from upper rooms.

We stayed in this fabulous little place for two nights. The staff are very friendly and willing to help with anything you need. The prices for food and drinks were similar to what you can find locally (e.g., cheap by US standards). The rooms were clean. The pool was clean and warm. The hotel provides a free shuttle to/from Alona beach (just a few minutes' drive).

The only negative was that there is a crazy rooster at a neighboring property who thinks dawn is arriving...well...most of the night. If you're a light sleeper, bring your earplugs. (This is true throughout the Philippines. Roosters and howling cats are everywhere.)

Room tip: We enjoyed the family king suite. I believe it's the most modern room.

This hotel is out of the way, but close to all the action of Panglao Island. It was never a problem to get transportation to other places on the island from the resort, although it's all done by tricycles. The room was nice, the restaurant was good, with a limited selection, and the service was excellent. The girl in charge of checking me in (Gia) knew her job well, and was extremely helpful. The WIFI in the room is not strong, but was good in the common areas. I would stay here again.

Well... Let's start with the pre-arranged airport pickup..... The driver did not show until 30 minutes late.. We found out that the original driver cancelled and they used another car service in a panic to pick us up... The cost for the 10 minute service was 400 PHP. What a rip off! Needless to say, we took a trike back to airport leaving for 150 PHP.
The free shuttle to Alona Beach... Yesterday we waited an hour only to find out that the shuttle was broken... We paid for a trike back to the resort.

The room... Very dated and sharp corners on the bed trim... The sliding door to enter the room wasn't on the best working order and there was no hot water our first night and the second day of our stay.
The food wad seriously overpriced at the bar/restoraunt... 800 PHP for a Ham & Cheese Sandwich with Fries, a piece of breaded fish and some rice and 2 juices.

The policy of no outside food allowed in resort is ridiculous and outdated.

Overall, the staff were friendly and nice, but very lacking in their communication with guests...

We would not stay here again.

Late Review. If you're looking for a place away from the very busy Alona but still not that far, this is your place.
Walking back to the hotel was not really advisable at night after you spend sometime in Alona beach, however they make up for the free shuttle which was a nice gesture. Breakfast was ok. Nothing too fancy.

We never got to try the pool as we were out on tours for most days.It looks nice and clean though. The lights from the pool are pleasant too at night. A suggestion, the stairs are quite slippery so the staff should be very attentive to avoid accidents.

A family friendly resort. ;)
