The Oceanlife Explorers Resort contains a restaurant, cocktail bar, hotel, pool, dive center with dive boat and a research lab for marine life. The restaurant, the cocktail bar and the dive center are available for non hotel guests, also.
Restaurant (and cocktail bar):
It offers a huge variety of food from different countries: Philippines, Thailand and Europe. Of course, you are offered vegetarian food, also.
I was there for two weeks of vacation and tried a lot of the food. All of it was excellent and delicious. The staff was very friendly. It is possible to eat your meals in a tree top next to the restaurant. I would recommend this place especially in the time of sunset!
At the moment four bungalows are finshed (more are planned). Each of them offers WiFi, air condition, cable-TV and a big bed. The separated bathroom is created in a half-open style like the ones in the Maledives (great feature!) and offers beside toilet and a big lavatory a shower with hot and cold water.
The rooms will be cleaned every day and the towels are exchanged, also.
Beside diving you can do a lot of sightseeing on this island. I recommend the waterfalls (Cambugahay and Lugnason Falls), Salagdoong Beach, Century Old Balete Tree and Cantabon Cave.
Actually there are two pools. A smaller one is constructed as a whirl pool and the water is running downwards into a bigger one with four different levels of depth. So you can sit (and enjoy by a cocktail or shake) or swim in it. In the evening it is coloured in blue. That looks really great!
It is connected to SSI (Scuba School International) and offers a lot of dive courses. and fun dives. In case you don't have your own dive equipment, you can rent it there for a convenient price. Each diver gets a box for its equipment. The equipment will be carried, mounted and cleaned by the staff of the dive center. For your check out they will dry it, also. Nice service!
On the other side of the road is the pier where the dive boat of the dive center is located. It's a large and fast boat and offers space for around twenty people. While my vacation there were less then ten people on the boat, so everybody had plenty of space.
Diving at the reefs around Siquijor is amazing! Manuel, the very experienced dive instructor, lives since several years on Siquijor island and knows a lot of lovely places, which nobody else seems to know. So we were able to dive at the reefs undisturbed by any other divers and to explore an untouched underwater world!
While the surface pauses free drinks and snacks will be offered by the friendly boat crew.
