Description: An idyllic country setting with perfect ale (free house) and fresh local ingredients on the menu. Stop off at The Crown Pulham Market to experience a thatched country pub with roaring fires in the winter and alfresco dining in the summer, overlooking the village green and next door to the historic church. Amy and Jon have a licence to spoil you with an extensive menu full of seasonal produce, with the majority of ingredients sourced within 15 miles of the pub. Local ales mixed with some old favourites. The experience is not there to be rushed so step over the threshold for a drink and enjoy freshly cooked food served between 12-2.30Pm and 6-9pm Monday to Friday, and 12-7pm on Sunday. Booking is advisable.

Lunch for 25, with a choice if 3 mains, was very good. The group had pre ordered. Friendly, professional staff and we appreciated all being served at the same time.Food nicely presented, generous puddings and starters and the vegetables were fresh and nicely cooked. Good pub food in a pleasant atmosphere.Reasonably priced for a mid week meal.

Four of us went for a meal last evening, booked In for seven got our meal at ten past eight ,would understand if busy but it was not busy now know why food was awful !!!one of us had liver which was inedible stuff also blood running out of it !!! Chicken meal was far to salty, other meals small portions ,service was very slow ,pretentious staff. We have been here before had lovely meals & the place was full ,what's happened?? We will not be returning needless to say , spoilt our evening out.

Lovely atmosphere, lovely pub, lovely food but be prepared to wait for it with no warning given. We were the second group to arrive (six of us) at 6.15pm, so it was early in the evening, but we still had to wait 45 minutes for our main dishes to arrive. We didn’t have starters. Food very good, but we then had to wait another 20 minutes for our desserts, which ruined our visit. We did chase the course and wonder how much longer we would have waited if we hadn’t chased! Arrived at 6.05pm and left at 8.40pm for a two course dinner is not acceptable, especially as we were not warned of any issues or delays. If they had bothered to explain, we would not have left so disgruntled. We may return when we have a few hours to spare. Ability to star rate has mysteriously stopped working. Ho hum.

Always had good food and friendly staff. Been quite a few times and have felt welcome. From parent meetings to family meals

Such a shame, lovely old pub and friendly staff but the roast beef was the tuffest I’d ever come across and some pieces inedible. When mentioned to the staff the only response was that they would pass the information to the cook, no benefit to us at all to be fair and quite honestly a roast should be the easiest dish to prepare. And once again ,gluten-free meant less food and no alternative given.

Also a bottle of wine was promised via email as it was a birthday party and booked in the full knowledge that it was a large birthday party but as my host forgot to bring the email offer the free bottle was not forth coming. For a party of 14 that was really very poor spirited and left me feeling that a second visit was not on the cards.
