Friendly hometown restaurant, a bit crowded, but great service. The soup was hot, delicious, and generous servings. We asked to split a tenderloin sandwich and they went a step further and brought a second bun, and a complete, and generous, second set of sandwich toppings so we could have 2 complete sandwiches.

This is one of those "hole-in-the-wall: fantastic places you discover, a "secret special diamond" that you make note of anf make sure to visit, multiple times, everytime you are by that way! Even worth going out of your way to eat there!! WE were in town for a horse show and looking for someplace to eat late, we walked in at 10 minutes to 9 PM, not realizing that they close at 9 PM, they seated us right away (party of 5), brought menus and accessories, took our orders (varied!) and delivered LARGE amounts of delicious, hot mouth-watering food! Talk about "home-cooked" and "mom's best dishes", this place is the place! Chicken-Fried Steak, Smothered Beef Steak, thick, juicy cheeseburgers, hand-breaded chicken strips and home-made, hands-down the best dinner rolls ever!! And that is just what we tried!! Everything was DELICIOUS and plenty of food, too! HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend this establishment, the BEST food, wonderful waitstaff and a definite "hidden gem!"

If you want a local, comfortable, friendly place with a great sandwich, try Lou's. We stopped recently and both of us had the tenderloin sandwich with the onion rings. Obviously not the healthiest meal; but for occasional dining, it was great. The tenderloin itself was large. And unlike many, it was thickly cut. Nicely breaded and fried. The onion rings were obviously cut in-house. A little greasy but great tasting. This is a small place and was pretty busy for the noon crowd. If you are into great sandwiches, you must try Lou's. We did not have any room to try the desserts; but they really looked good.

I stopped here during a business trip after the desk clerk at the hotel suggested it. I ordered the grilled tenderloin sandwich with green beans and mashed potatoes. The tenderloin was slightly under seasoned, but was HUGE and very good. The servers were very personable and seemed to enjoy their job which goes a LONG way in making for a pleasant dining experience. I would definitely recommend this place to fellow travelers.
