We came to dinner here with a group of people on a Saturday night. They were able to seat us promptly. The restaurant is in the mall area on the east side of Bloomington. I had salmon and a salad, which were both good. I don't remember what everyone else had, but they said the food was good. We ordered wine by the bottle and the glass to suit everyone's tastes. The prices of the wines seemed reasonable and the selection was good. The service was also good. Overall it was a nice place to eat on a busy Saturday evening when we did not have a reservation.

An excellent, but pricey, quiet restaurant on the east side of Bloomington with friendly staff and owner. Great selections of wines. Sometimes hosts dinners with wine pairings. A truly fine choice for a quiet, intimate evening out.

It's always interesting to see how you will be greeted when you go to a restaurant (anywhere in the world) but especially one that claims to care about the quality of its food. Truffles didn't start well! How hard is it to smile and say thank you for coming? It was a very cold night and it is an effort to go out - a restaurant should be appreciative! It's not that anyone was rude, they just looked like they were stressed and it was all a bit of a bother. However, that out of the way...finally we got a nice young man who got the job done. A nice bottle of 2004 Taltarni Shiraz and water and we settled in to a very good meal. After a starter of delicious calamari, not greasy, but crispy and fresh, my friends had the fish, that they said was very well cooked, and I had the duck. The duck was tender and generous in size but just a little salty. We had the flourless Chocolate Temptation that was also very good. It's moderate to expensive in price but worth the visit and would be even better if they can improve their welcoming and waiting skills!

In my opinion, this is THE best place for a good meal most every time in Bloomington. Yes, it's a bit out of the way, near East Side Kroger, but making the trek is worth the extra effort. For a start parking is free. Delicious cocktails, half price Thursdays. Fresh fish, duck and pasta dishes, served with imaginative sides and tasty starters are always reliable. Local produce is to the fore. Speak to the knowledgable sommelier, but don't forget to check out the "Other Whites" and "Other Reds" in addition to the pages of varietals on the long wine list for some occasionally really special bargains! Overall not cheap, but good value if you know about, and like, things done properly!
