Dear Shirpet,
Thank you for all your lovely points within your review and we thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Albeit, we feel it necessary to defend ourselves against your opinions on our hotel facilities and atmosphere.
We assume from the room you describe and that you talk of eating in our Tinpickle & Rhum Brasserie that you were accompanied by a dog during your stay. We are fortunate that our hotel, one of very few locally that boasts two fantastic restaurants, both with different menus and characteristics. Our Tinpickle & Rhum Brasserie seats up to 80 in its bar and seating areas and therefore boasts a large but cosy country feel. Our Conservatory Restaurant oozes in natural light, with views of our beautiful gardens and the moors boasting a classy ambiance serving a 6 course set menu each evening. We don't know many hotels that allow dogs within its main restaurant, however we therefore have our Tinpickle & Rhum Brasserie that allows those dinning with dogs to do so within our alternative restaurant.
We do operate a 'any menu, anywhere' policy and therefore should you have wished for our
Conservatory menu in the Tinpickle this would not have been a problem at all.
Here at The Moorland Hotel we have 36 newly bedrooms and therefore must provide seating with our lounge and restaurants to comfortably accommodate all of our guests when we are at the hotels capacity.
We have recently just undergone a total refurbishment, in fact the first since 1960 and as are many very impressed with the hotels beauty and improvements, of course we know that our tastes wont be to everyone's but would like to thank you for your kind comments on cleanliness, service, efficiency and comfort.
Kind regards,
Steve Furness
