0/10 would not recommend. The hotel is severely understaffed, and the room was dirty. For the price I was expecting more than a motel 8 experience. Definitely no longer a 4 star hotel. Rooms are also very small. I could not fit my carry-on luggage past the door because there was no room. I had a “wonderful” view of a brick wall They don’t have housekeeping and you can only get towels from 12-5.
The front desk staff was very nice and understanding. I got a refund and stayed somewhere else.

We loved our stay here! The room was exactly as pictures, very clean, super comfy bed and aside from occasional sirens from the street, it was very quiet.. The restaurant isn't open, due to staff shortage, but there are a lot of places to eat near by. The location is amazing! My flight got in early in the day and the gal at the front desk (Alyssa, I think) was happy to let me do early check in. She explained why the restaurant isn't open and it really wasn't a big deal. The room had a fridge and Walgreens is about a block away, so we just picked up drinks and were fine. I will absolutely stay here again, all the staff we encountered were great and I honestly wouldn't have known they had been shut down, it was flawless.

I don't know where to begin to describe my terrible experience here. I have absolutely no clue how this hotel got a 4 star rating. This is not a 4-star hotel. This is not even a 3-start hotel.

First off, the room is a box. I booked the standard and it did NOT look like the picture at all. I actually had to ask the front desk if they put me in the wrong room. They said it was correct, but I asked for the dimensions and they said they'd get back to me, which they never did. I'm a small person and I had to hug the bed in order to walk around it. I'm not sure if all the Warwick Allertons' are like this but this one definitely is tiny and the image is so incredibly false online.

Second, good luck reaching the front desk by phone, I called several times pertaining to the issue of the AC being stuck on FULL BLAST on a wet and cold night in Chicago. No one ever picked up so I had to walk myself downstairs to speak to someone. Time passed, and very very that evening they eventually had someone come up. He offered to either bring up a space heater or try to fix the temp for the entire building (?). The tech was nice at least.

Finally there was a bunch of DIRT and residue in the shower, some food, and objects in my room. It's still Covid era and it was BLATANTLY clear that this room had not been cleaned, it looked like only the bed had been made and new towels put up. There were cornflakes on my floor, a pointy metal object at the foot of my bed, white particles on my table, and it was just overall a disgusting room. I called again for this problem and they said they'd send someone up to "check" (they never did).

When I went down to tell them, the front desk manager was passive aggressive repeatedly saying "you're the one with the room problem, what do you want me to do?" I asked for a substantial discount, and she said no. She eventually promised to return a very small amount of money back to me for all the headache I experienced on a simple 2 night stay, and when I got the receipt, I saw she did not follow through with what we discussed regarding my total. The woman at the desk the next day said I could wait for the manager to come back at 2:00pm (my checkout was 12) or email her.

Bottom line, DO NOT COME HERE. Check out ANY of the other downtown hotels. Please save yourself the headache and listen to the reviews.

Room tip: Do not chose a room here at all.

We were really disappointing with this hotel during our recent trip to Chicago. This hotel is in a prime location and in an awesome old building, but they are struggling on multiple fronts. Check-in was bad, we had to wait until 6 (!) pm to get into our room which really made it hard to make our evening plans. The rooms was not clean, especially the bathroom needed much more attention. The microwave was dirty as well and the fridge didn't work. We also had a vent that was flapping and literally woke us up at night.
Then we had to wait in line again for check-out. Not a good experience, I would not recommend coming here.

We were sold a King bed but we got a Queen next to the elevator which did not lend itself to a quiet stay. No wash cloths. Front desk did not return my credit card after pre-charging incidentals I did not use. Asked them to mail it to me but they refused unless I paid another $35.00. No food available in restaurant despite advertising breakfast. Pay slightly more and stay at the Hampton Inn a couple of doors away and you’ll be happier.

Room tip: Choose another hotel
