Adorable quiet campground (10 pm quiet time). We loved the lake and loved that you can rent kayaks and paddle boards. Would definitely stay again!

Been going here for 40 years. Our kids grew up there during the summer. They enjoyed it so much, they still go there today, with their kids. Camping, swimming, fishing, hiking.

I live in Sandpoint, and I go to Round Lake at least once a walk for the walk around the lake. It is very pretty, generally uncrowded and dog friendly. The campground is family oriented, the lake is good for fishing with non-gas motors, canoeing, kayaking and swimming. There is a nice beach area and canoes and kayaks for rent. There are no dogs allowed on the beach however. In the winter, it seems to be a popular ice fishing lake too!

We were a little dismayed when we arrived and saw how tight the campsites are tucked together. However, we were amazed at what a pleasant stay we had. The quiet hours from from 10 - 7 and those were well respected. The rangers were helpful. We hiked the two miles around the lake and it was gorgeous. It was difficult to leave the site better than we found it because it was in such good condition. We will go back.

My relatives downgrade this place because they camp in big trailers, party hardy, and want to stay up late. If you are looking for a lovely lake without gas engines, no 4-wheelers, and lots of fish, give it a try.

I've camped here for decades, starting in diapers. It is small, cozy, clean, beautiful, and has many choices.
Rent paddle boat
Rent canoes
Rent boards
Fish
Bird watch
Kayak
Hike through the swamp, along Cocollala creek, up a small mountain ridge, or around the lake.
Find the fish weir
Bike any of the trails
Wander thru the forest
Look for signs of the beavers that were prevalent decades ago
Bring your own study floats and explore the creek
Sit in camp and enjoy the peacefulness
Lay on the dock and watch meteor showers, find constellations
The lake is small enough decent swimmers can cross it. Last week we got about 20 yards from a male Great Blue Heron, saw turtles and fish, watched Osprey fish. Lily pads were blooming, and the creek was full.
I am glad the ranger John gets after rowdy campers. We camped a lot recently in parks all over the west, and no one quieted the noisy neighbors disturbing our sleep.

If you go when fire danger is high, take alternative cooking heat.
