After braking down on the m62 we needed a drink and some dinner! What a gorgeous pub, we had the creamy mushrooms and goujons to start, to follow we had gammon steak and hunters chicken. All really good dishes and a special thanks to Becky, warm welcome smiling and just awesome! Great part of your team!

Trip out in the snow for a fantastic lunch at this little gem. Fabulous food served with a smile. Lovely cosy pub complete with real fires and a friendly atmosphere for two and four legged friends.

Barley was a handy meet up point to catch up with friends, so I made enquiries at The Pendle Inn if they could cater for vegans. I was very impressed by Manager Stuart's response, very accommodating, so having sorted out a two course lunch, we met our friend on the day.

Barley is a lovely village popular with walkers and cyclists and the Pendle Inn gets really busy at weekends. Loved the huge conservatory to the rear of the pub and they also have accommodation just across the car park.

My friend and husband ordered creamy garlic mushrooms on brioche and vegetable soup to start and I had a vegan version of the mushrooms, cooked in loads of garlic on toasted crusty bread.

Main courses were plate meat pie, chips & mushy peas and turbot with sweet potato fondant and a vegan sweet potato and butternut squash tagine with mixed rice and salad. The plate meat pie was huge and defeated our friend but my husband and I devoured our mains. Hubby even managed some ice cream and we finished with coffees.

The Pendle Inn is a proper pub, not some gastro pub pretending to be something.
The Pendle Inn serves pub food, plenty of it which will suit walkers and hikers who have been out on the fells all day. The food is delicious and homemade and the service from the two ladies at front of house, was really friendly. The pub welcomes locals, tourists, families, cyclists, walkers and is dog friendly.

Would love to return and see what other vegan options they could offer.

Dirty boots, dogs, interesting (sometimes) locals, log fire, cheerful (usually) service, Good food if slightly unimaginative. Very welcome pint(or two) of good ale after walk up Pendle.
