Place is hard to find since its snuggled in the woods at Shellman's Bluff on the Marsh.
Had fried flounder and it was delicious !! Worth the search to find it.

We were staying in the area and heard of Speeds ("nothin speedy about it, but the best seafood 'round" , as the locals say) but so worth any wait .
We didn't feel we had to wait long at all( and we are rare from new york!!) , but again, you shouldn't be in a rush if you are coming to this area of Georgia.
Slow down, bring your own choice of dinner drink, and savor in the company of whoever you are with.

Whatever you order and have to wait for will be great.

We really thought the raw user cocktail were the best oysters we ever ate.
And the blackened trout fillet was delicious.

They weren't opened on certain days , so check their hours and call before heading in.

Great spot if your in the area, or just passing through.

Staff were nice and knowledgable.

There were few, if any occasions, , when we met anyone in this area of Georgia that wasn't hospitable or polite. :)

Love this place. LOVE COASTAL GEORGIA !!!

Visited HarrisNeck Wildlife Refuge and found this place on Yelp. Was looking for someplace for lunch. Don't let the location or exterior fool you. The food was wonderful and staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend the shrimp platter and the crab Au gratin. I am a coleslaw snob and this place had some of the best coleslaw I've found. Definitely check it out.

We have been coming to Speed's Kitchen for at least 30 years, and it has never failed us! Speed's is part of the reason we bought a vacation cottage in Shellman Bluff, where it is located, in northern McIntosh County. The best fried oysters and shrimp in the world! Locally harvested right off the boats. If you prefer grilled, go for it. The restaurant advertises their steaks too, and last time we went I finally ordered one and loved it! Prices are very reasonable for seafood dinners. No alcohol is served, but you can bring your own. Service is very friendly. Ambiance is, well, none! But come for the food! This is truly where the locals eat.

A winding ride, but fun; parking good; very casual; all ordered several dishes no complaints; service was good;
