If you recall the old Jekyll market on Jekyll Island of about 10-years ago before the "big time" development leading to the new convention center and a series of new hotel-resorts, you'll find this new market to be a stunning, upscale replacement. Gone is the old building in the small strip mall that once was near the initial fork in the road near the entrance prior to the latest development. Now, a gleaming new market is part of a series of new buildings at the entrance near the roundabout just past the DQ as you enter the island.
This market offers swag similar to that offered in the old store of the past -- Jekyll Island T-Shirts, Sea Turtle stuff, and more. But now, there's first rate pastries, sandwiches, a BBQ bar, large stocks of wine, and other upscale offerings of interest to residents and tourists alike.
