At first glance we were not sure about eating at this restaurant. It had been recommended by a local so we decided to give it a try. We were not sorry that we did. The food & service was very good. We really enjoyed eating outside also. Marguerita's were strong & excellent!

We visited tonight and had a great experience. There was a wait, but it was worth it. Great margaritas and the wet burrito is delicious. The small taco salad was good too. The kids had tacos ($1 each).
If you like Mexican food, I recommend VIP!

The food was very very good. However, the music can be too loud for conversation. My wife and I met up with friends that we had not seen in about a year. Our dining experience was terrific. The patty melts are gargantuan. Seriously folks, these are almost 2" thick patties on these patty melts. The seared tuna tacos are to die for. The small taco salad is enough for one person and also very tasty. My only complaint is that the music was way too loud. It started out at a comfortable level where you could still carry on a conversation without yelling. Once you have to raise your voice to have a conversation, the music is too loud.

P.S. You gotta try the queso.

We chose to wait for an outside table for 65 minutes. When a six-person party that had arrived after us was seated we checked and were told "You must have been crossed off." Given that we had given our unmistakable last name and had not heard this name called sitting right next to the hostesss this explanation was...well...not un-truethful. We were struck off the waitlist in favor of a higher margin, six-person party with a non-sensical excuse.
Order a margarita straight-up with no salt and you get a warm mixed drink. No stirring or shaking involved. Do not be fooled: this dive-place is all dive and no restaurant.
We finished our mediocre drinks and went to Pass-a-Grille for a great evening.
