A little touristy but worth the time. Sponge fishing has long been a staple of Tarpon Springs economy and this is a place to get a good first hand look at it.

We did the St. Nicholas sponge diving boat tour. It was worth it with the education my teen received. The ride was nice and fun to see the diver go in the water to retrieve a sponge. We learned different type of sponges. We enjoy the stroll on the street with many restaurants and shops. If you love Greek food, there are many choices to choose from. Definitely check out the free movie/museum at the Yiannis.

This is a nice place to take a slow walk. There is a visitors building with 15 minute parking as you turn onto the street.

We enjoyed learning about how sponges are harvested and the history of the same. The tour was approximately 45 minutes in length on a beautiful day!
