No the water isn't as clean, but for a good time bar/restaurant combo, Captain Hirams nailed it. You do have the water view whether you are dining in the restaurant or snacking at the large outside bar area. The food is good to great depending on your taste for seafood. This isn't fine dining, so don't show up expecting that. However, if you are into Keys style atmosphere, you've come to the right place. My latest visit, was for the music and the party. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon (March 29) with great music by "Gary Lazer Eyes", local boys out of Melbourne that brought back memories of old "Sublime". We had a large party that was waited on by Lalana (or Alana) and Lauren. Those two girls put up with alot and never lost their smiles. All we ate were appetizers and sandwiches, but it was all good and came quicker than expected, considering the crowd. The drinks came out fast and cold. Try their "Pussers #3". Last note: For the out of towners (or the ones that drank too much) there is a hotel to the west of Captain Hirams....pretty sure it is owned by them too.

We decided to give Capt Hiram's another try. Called and made reservations for Easter Sunday Brunch, person on phone spoke broken English, but took our reservation. Arrived few minutes before our time and were seated downstairs, given a menu. We soon discovered brunch was upstairs. Upstairs finally mgr spoke with us and informed us they only had two seatings and could not accommodate us. Sorry. Good by. We won't be returning ever!!

There are so many spots here you wont know where to go! Each area offers a little something different. This was the best Bloody Mary I ever had, My friends had screw drivers which they raved about. If you have too much to drink you can stay at their Hotel!!! I live locally but I want to come stay at the hotel to review that aspect lol. I am in love with the views and Tiki area . Everyone must go Here!

Captain Hiram's is more about the ambience and the scenery than it is the food. We've eaten breakfast, lunch, dinner, and bar food at Hiram's and it's all pretty decent. Our favorite is their brunch by far! If you go, ask for a table on the water because sometimes the dolphins come in to view and it's amazing!

You would think at the prices charged that the food would be exceptional. Not so. Haven't been back.
