Sebastian Fishing Museum has a great movie about local fishing and oystering history. The movie shows the "Good Old Days" when fish were a mainstay of the local economy.

First: you will need to pay admission to Sebastian state park - it is $8 and allows your entire car to go on both the north and south side parks including the jetty and tidal pool.

The museum is great once inside the park and has many interesting fishing displays as well as local history. There is a short film within the museum as well.

Allie about 45 minutes to see everything or a bit more if you enjoy antique fishing gear etc....

Friendly staff.

When visiting Sebastian Inlet State Park, you need to stop into the small, lovely Sebastian Fishing Museum - free with your paid admission to the park.

It highlights the history of fishing in the Sebastian area, and contains fascinating displays, old gear, wonderful photos, and great informative panels to review throughout.

There's also a nice small gift shop with a good selection of nautical-themed merchandise (e.g. décor, books, etc.) to purchase something to take home as a keepsake.

Overall, a great way to spend 1-2 hours out of the heat and learning about the area's fishing! Highly recommend!

This is a very quaint "Museum" telling how the Inlet was formed/made & kept in use. How the old fishermen fished back in the day. Pictures, Exhibits, 3 D exhibitions etc. Self guided tour. Educational. Free. Takes donations. Must pay entry fee to State Park (8.00 a car load) to get in.

Great little fishing museum with loads of photos, write-ups and a wonderful 30 minute video all about the early fishing families in Sebastian and the history of the fishing trade in this area. Having bought fish from the Judah family shop along Indian River Drive, it was interesting to hear and see some of their history portrayed at the museum. Another special item is Mr. Sembler's homemade fishing boat and equipment right there on display. No charge for the museum, but since it is located in the Sebastian Inlet State Park, you have to pay the park entrance fee. After seeing the museum walk the inlet and experience the beauty of both the Indian River Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean. Lots of birds, fish, etc., to see.
