You can either take the water shuttle to the parks or you can walk along a path that will take you there. Rooms were clean and comfortable, great views, and customer service was great. You can eat on property, but we had all our meals at CityWalk. I not only would stay here again, but can't wait to!

Room tip: Ask for a room overlooking the water

Overall value for the price & amenities got 4 stars from me. It’s a large resort with 2,200 rooms. There are several hotels that cost $100-200 less than what we paid within a 1-2 mile radius for a 3-night stay but we wanted to experience theme park resort life at least once.

Pros:
*shuttle service included to-from Universal, available every ~15 min
*can enter Islands of Adventure 1 hr before that park opens
*very comfy beds and pillows
*lazy river is well made & has life guard supervision; the pool areas were the biggest attraction for us
*Inside hotel: Starbucks, hotel diner has large variety of food to please everyone, Universal store (same pricing as what you’d find in the theme park)
*Has a decent FL resident discount rate for all room types

Cons:
-No microwave in standard rooms...management informed me that’s only for the suites (upgrade costs $15 - $50 more/night!). In my humble opinion, I shouldn’t have to upgrade/increase cost to warm up leftovers...especially since we spent more time out of the room than in it. We’ll likely think twice about returning to this resort because of this 1 thing the next time we’re in Orlando (~3-4 wks from now!). We could buy a microwave for the difference in price between the room we stayed in and an upgrade to one of the suites.
-Don’t expect daily room cleanings/housekeeping at all during your stay here due to COVID. You have to make your own bed/change sheets yourself & put your trash outside the door.
-Parking is an additional charge (at the time we went it was $18 + tax/night) on top of already higher resort price. I guess this is to cover shuttle costs & to maximize profits.

We have stayed at this resort multiple times now and it has not let us down. The changes due to covid-19 did not hinder our experience any more than they do at home or anywhere else. Check-in was fast and easy and the staff was friendly. The room was very nice and comfortable and clean. Housekeeping is not servicing the rooms so if you need towels or anything else you just text them and they will deliver what you need and take your garbage away. No all the food venues were open but several were and so was the store and the Starbucks. The boat to City Walk is always nice and was still running. I tried to book again but the resort is temporarily re closed so we ended up at the Endless Summer resort for our second stay which is nice as well but not at the same standard as Sapphire Falls.

Love this hotel and hoping to go again in March 2021 for 10 nights for our daughters 21st birthday if all is well. Hoping to get the same two rooms! Very clean great service friendly staff. Love the boat to the park x

When calling to book, they suggested an upgraded room with a "lagoon view." The room had nothing more than a sliver of a view of the boat dock and trees. After emailing them, they were dismissive and did nothing to rectify the issue. We even provided pictures of the view. The pool is great, but for the price and lack of concern on behalf of the staff, it's worth the price to stay at royal pacific or portofino.
