This place is a good way to see A LOT of native Florida trees and birds as well as some other seldom seen wildlife native to the area. Plan on walking a couple of miles and learning a lot about the wildlife from sanctuary staff.
Overall the sanctuary is less than a zoo but more than a simple nature hike. I wasn’t thrilled about the price but it includes two days (which we did not use) to visit the sanctuary so if you are staying in the area you don’t need to fit all of the walking in on one day, you can come back for day two.
Great place to take the kids.

Very nice visit for families or couples. Lots of nature to see- plants, flowers, birds, alligators, etc.

A great and different place to visit. An easy walk on the boardwalk through unspoiled Florida as it was perhaps a hundred years ago. Huge cypress trees and plants too numerous to list. Also many different wading birds, alligators and snakes to be seen

Put this in your list of places to visit!

This is a nice walk on a boardwalk above the ground allowing you to enjoy the marshy woods!

Beautiful!

We visited on an overcast afternoon. The cypress trees were amazing. It was incredible to see the Irma damage. We didn’t see much wildlife for the first part of the path then the path lead to amazing 10 foot alligators, snakes, and birds. It was well worth the walk.
