Recently moved to the area, so we are trying out some local spots. Stopped in Las Palmas for lunch today, and it was the best decision I've made in a while; Brenda was our server, and she was very helpful. Restaurant is small, beautifully decorated. Had live music on a Tuesday afternoon, out of season -- wonderful. A selection of alcoholic beverages are 2 for 1 all day. We enjoyed the strawberry margarita and the blackberry-blood orange margarita. Very, very good. We had pork chops and pork cube dinners, Started with wonderful Cuban bread -- warm, buttery -- mmmm. The pork dishes were well seasoned, topped with grilled onions, perfectly cooked. The star of the meal was the sides -- yellow rice, black beans and fried plantains. OMG -- absolutely exquisite Rice was perfectly cooked, the beans were silky, heavenly and the plantains were sweet, charred and fantastic. Food was hot. Portions were large. Prices very, very reasonable. We brought home dessert, because everything else was so good, we just had to have it. Everyone at the restaurant was kind and efficient. Absolutely one of the best meals I've had in a while. I am already planning a trip back with other family members. Best Cuban dining experience I can remember,
